These are the 10 Karate techniques you need to learn for your 1st Grading, (10th Kyu).

A 'KYU' is the Japanese word for Karate Gradings.

We begin with '10th Kyu', and work downwards numerically until you reach 1st Kyu
which is for your blackbelt.
Adults need to take a minimum of 8 lessons for their 10th Kyu.
The more classes you take, the more you gain strength, stamina, co-ordination and balance.
By the time of your 10th Kyu Grading, these few techniques should be quite easy.

As you progress through the Kyus, you'll need more lessons and training before you can grade.
This reflects the complexity of the techniques and the amount of practice required.
But for now, this is all you have to concentrate on.

2 types of punch (strikes), 2 types of blocking techniques, 2 kicks and 2 stances.
